Ian was born in Bootle, North Liverpool and is the youngest of 7 children. His father served in the Merchant Navy during World War 2 at the age of 15 before working in the ship repair industry on the Liverpool docks for over 40 years. His mother also worked full time in a variety of jobs, as well as raising 7 children.
After leaving secondary school Ian worked for a number of years working in manufacturing in the production of kitchen & bedroom furniture and then began to study for a potential career in financial services via Allied Dunbar. Having passed Part 1 of The FST training exam Ian was offered a position as a part-time sales negotiator at Reeds Rains Estate Agents and seeing this as good experience he took on this position. Ian progressed quickly from this position to assistant manager before being approached by Andrew Louis estate agents to become the Branch Manager at their flagship city centre office. Ian held this position for 8 years and oversaw the growth of the business during the resurgence of the Liverpool property market in the wake of the city’s hugely successful Capital of Culture success.
After 8 successful years at Andrew Louis Ian took up the option to become Managing Director at C&D Properties, an established City Centre estate agency specialising in all aspects of the property sector. As Managing Director Ian is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of the company and monitoring of the C&D team.
Ian has been happily married to his wife Nicola for 13 years and he also has a grown up son Andrew who works in the hospitality industry. In his spare time he likes to ride his bike and go for walks in the Wirral countryside with Nicola and they both enjoy short breaks to European cities when work will allow.
